anyone using gaming type of mouses together with Renoise, you know, a mouse with more clickable buttons then just left/right + scroll wheel? Can you link these buttons to keyboard shortcuts? Might be some workflow enhancement possible :)
OopsIFlyNormally those devices come with some kind of macro functionality, also allowing to map key combos or even timed sequences to macro keys/buttons. Differs from each manufacturer though.
I use a gaming mouse+keyboard, but not for macros yet, more for the snappy easy feeling using them. might map the 7 macro keys of my keyb to switching gui modes soon.

toblerponeUsing it and can't imagine my life without it, from the scripted buttons, with several script profiles, to the custom dpi setting button for making more precise mouse movements.

I need to have a word with myself about my naming conventions for Renoise projects. I have no idea what I named this .xrns, but it's sure not the same as what I uploaded to Soundcloud.
CarbonthiefOh wait, there it is, why the hell is it in that folder?

Was learning about IR samples today and came across a guy who'd created a bunch of them for his end of year college project or something. He distributed them all for free from from his dropbox account. Might be worth a look, I tested one of the springs, they seem ok. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0ocfp5ficiga3al/AAA2P0YZTEteNhJJIZqUvs0Ja?dl=0
OopsIFlyMy tip look for IR samples from thousands€ pro rack reverb units, those are the good ones, springs or real spaces can have nice unusual sounds but the rack fx are the cleanest, crispest, easiest to work with imho.

Buying a Make Noise 0 Coast as my first piece of semi-modular gear yay or nay?
KnownUnI heard build quality of lifeforms sucks hard! A retailer here in Sweden sold 100 and got more than half of them back. With 0 coast only 2 units got back out of 50. So 0-coast for quality and that beautiful non filter westcoast synthesis.

RedmanOh shit that's not good for the Lifeforms. Thanks for letting me know. I think I'm just gonna settle with the 0 Coast so before it trail off into other options and get indecisive. Thanks KnownUn.

KnownUnno problem, whats weird is that normally Pittsburgh modular do good stuff with quality, lifeforms is a mystery thou. think they'll fix it soon. but between mother 32, lifeforms or 0-coast i think you will have most funs with an 0-coast - specially if you're into the more playful approach. good luck!

Today I lost a beat, invisible limiter hanged itself in au mode. Than I made another one, much phatter- no limiter. .-)
OopsIFlyif I find some nice twist when building instruments, I often discard (or save as reference) the first attempt and just try to do it again. The second, third time you do the essential steps from memory automatically, and have more open senses for the finer aspects of tuning.

OopsIFlynice hoppy vibe, but the format wtf a whole galore of 1-2 minute sketches...?
I guess people are going to like it more if you manage to alloy 2-4 of those ideas into 5-7 minute tracks. YOu know what I mean?
such chilly tracks, but as soon as the vibe starts working for you on the sofa the track is over already confronting you with the next which is a different vibe.

KnownUnThanks man, I thought these were long... I used to do 30 secs too. I'll keep that in mind, I get easily bored and like 2 min instrumentals in general, sometimes I have to extend for emcees thou. Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!
Mar 28 2017 22:28
OopsIFlyThats why my idea for you was to put the ideas from multiple pieces to one track. It can make things so much more complex, travelling from one sound to another can have so many playful possibilities. It is an awful lot more work, though, it all needs to be composed/sequenced after all.
