anyone using gaming type of mouses together with Renoise, you know, a mouse with more clickable buttons then just left/right + scroll wheel? Can you link these buttons to keyboard shortcuts? Might be some workflow enhancement possible :)

Normally those devices come with some kind of macro functionality, also allowing to map key combos or even timed sequences to macro keys/buttons. Differs from each manufacturer though.

I use a gaming mouse+keyboard, but not for macros yet, more for the snappy easy feeling using them. might map the 7 macro keys of my keyb to switching gui modes soon.

Using it and can't imagine my life without it, from the scripted buttons, with several script profiles, to the custom dpi setting button for making more precise mouse movements.

It's probably possible to rewire an old ball mouse and fit it with a proper plug. The signals should be the same i believe.

This looks interesting; https://qrates.com/ anyone familiar with the service and how prices compare to traditional pressing?

I think 500 vinyls is the minimum order for most companies, but you can see that on the qrates site too, how little is added to the price when you choose larger amounts.

I checked out the crowd funding thingy now and now i understand what you're talking about. To me it seems like a brilliant way to get your music published. I wonder how effective it works and how many that actually gets their records funded? I saw a few that had succeded and a lot that hadn't succeded yet, but i listened to a couple that sounded completely terrible though, so maybe not so strange they hadn't been funded.
You probably need to promote your stuff other places t...

Does renoise take exclusive control of a sound device? I'm trying to capture some running patterns with the audio playing in camstudio, but can't seem to get it right with either asio or directsound drivers (scarlet 6i6 usb).

In recent versions of Windows, enable view of the hidden and disabled sound devices in your playback and recording audio devices with a right-click in the device list.

I have a fried old windows laptop here that I'd like to turn into a linux machine. Not necessarily for music making, but for simple office like tasks / internet. Are there distro's out there that can be installed from disc / formatting drive first?

I mostly use xubuntu, but it is matter of taste on the gui of the os.

The live USBs (dvd is also possible) should feature the tool "gparted" which can be used to format and repartition disk drives without installing ubuntu. It is also used in installation to configure the setup, if you wish manual partitioning. In case you wish to just reinstall win 7 you can zap the old installation with it. I you plan to sell the notebook, use the shred tool so no phreak can recover your...

If I use the search option in the renoise wiki ( http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Home ) to search for phrase, I get a database error result, that can't be right?

I'm looking for a second hand 19" rack unit catered to mostly distortion effects. Used to have a modualizer, which was cool, but hard to find. Am I right, Boss is the only brand doing dedicated dist stuff? Don't have the money for a Sherman filterbank and already have a few multi fx with dist included. Tips on alternatives would be nice. Budget = 100 euro max
