Window size

I think the topic says it all… I like to use several programs simulaneously (for example my very own MIDI patch selector; I select an instrument; the program gives me the bank number that I can use in Renoise)…
but Renoise gets in front of my taskbar! :(

Yeah I know: Alt-tab… but why defy the rules of Windows and claim the entire screen? We’re in the multi-tasking age, right?!

I’m sure that Renoise can show the taskbar with a tiny bit of shrinking in every horizontal screen section!

(And oh yeah… I just registered Renoise… how do I make a “registered users request”? Right here? )

If your monitor can handle resolutions higher than 1024x768 (which most should in this day and age), you can use Renoise in windowed mode. In the far upper right corner, just left of the “Close application-X”-button there’s the button that does this. Just click it again to return to fullscreen. Renoise will also remember the mode you last used it in when you close it. I prefer fullscreen, though - easier to see things (I run windows at 1600x1200).

don’t worry Dax, registered users voting is coming (WIP).
In the mean time you can always mail taktik regarding this (and with suggestions how to improve it, complain by itself is not enough).

My monitor can handle resolutions greater than 1024x768, but not at 85Hz (my favourite :) ), so I’d rather not change it just for Renoise.

So maybe I had better posted this in “Ideas & suggestions”, instead of help. I’m not posting this to piss off people, it’s just a suggestion that will improve my experience with this program.

As a temp solution you can use a program like Powerstrip to set up some screenresolutions on hotkeys.
