Converters of any kind

http://hem.spray.se/joakim.slettengren/

just have a look. might be more than usefull under some circumstances.

Aha the only thing missing seems the mid2rns and rns2mid :D
Perhaps and idea? I use renoise also as a midi sequencer.

I’m still searching for a JPG2TXT converter, which saves a file with a description of the image and an accutare artistic criticism with a configurable grade of harshness :D

lol. other converters would be mp32txt (this tune sucks.) or pdf2txt (boooring !) :D

my words - my thoughts :) … we already discussed that in Ideas&Suggestions … but it seems that there are more importent things for the developers … (I don’t understand that)

i’m a old MED user … but MED import are more unimportent as MIDI vor the developers … i can understand this … MIDI import is already ok for me …

PT3R: please make a new topic in Ideas & Suggestions … maybe - our wish come true

in fact: i searched weeks for a good midi2xm or ft converted (renoise can import this old formats) … but there is only really old not useful dos stuff :( … with the (pattern-)features of renoise a midi-file could be imported very well i think

Of course you could import the midi to modplug tracker and save it as an xm and open that in Renoise. But it’s a tremendous amount of work to do that ;)

It would be cool if eventually Renoise could open midi files but it’s not that important as there are work-arounds.

MODplug midi import is bugy and without any quantisation and the xm format is too limited for midi-stuff. no solution for me!

about MID2XM:
ever tried Ian Luck’s Mid2XM?

It has been made a lot of time ago by the same author of XmPlay, the best XM player and works on Windows.

Registration key is on the top of the page (no warez: it has been written by the author ihimself :P )

Alexander:
Look at the W.I.P page and you’ll see that the users has voted “MIDI file in/export” as the top prio feature atm. So if democracy really works this will be implemented soon… obviously it will take some time either way.

FastTracker does not produce .ft2 files (never heard of this extention): it produces XM files.

I don’ think XMs are playable via RealPlayer.

The most famous player which plays XM is WinAMP, but it has a poor command fidelty.

yep - i know … nice to see that it seems that more user interested in pro-stuff like VSTi / Midi / SoftSampler etc. … i hope Renoise grows to a pro-software like other sequencers ;) - i see so much industrial and e-music musicians and bands working with cubase or other piano-roll stuff … don’t understand this. maybe with piano-roll the number of Renoise-lovers will grow really … and so on … ;)
