I have not seen http://last.fm yet...
cons:
-You can only decide to go fully commercial or offer all your stuff fully free. No license scheme per song or per album basis.

I'm not sure about this, but I think you can release stuff under different names (while using the same account) and release songs commercially on one and for free on another.

ALTID.cc is definetly the most proffesional firm, when it comes to handle digital media.

Apparently you've missed the point of the thread.... or are failing at humour.

soundcloud rocks
Rough draft of my remix of Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes:

A foray into a darker subgenre of dubstep and a rather popular track (for me):

+1 Haven't tried much else, but soundcloud gives you enough space for free to upload a bunch of music (120 minutes). Would also like to recommend dropbox for sharing files with bandmates or collaborators.

I just wanted to note that Bandcamp isn't quite as ass-kicking anymore because you don't get unlimited free downloads:

Every Bandcamp account comes with 200 downloads per month of tracks or albums that you're giving away (meaning you’ve set them to free, or let-fan-name-price with no minimum and the fan enters zero). Once each month, we look at your download credits, and if you have less than 200 remaining, we bump you back up to 200. If that won't cut it (because you're planning a big free download campaign, for example), you can either buy more (they're 1.5¢ to 3¢ each, depending on quantity), or earn more by selling (we add 1,000 credits for every $500 USD in sales).

I'm late to the party but I discovered Dropbox. Using my "public" folder, all my needs pretty much solved.

If you quickly want to share a track (e.g. in chats),  then there's "picosong":

     http://picosong.com/

* No registration required

* Only takes mp3 files

* Tags are fully displayed

* Files are always downloadable

* Files are permanent, only deletable with a given URL.

  (So if that URL is lost, the track will remain forever.)

* Files are playable on-site, you just share an URL.

Regards,

René

A new service that could potentially rival Soundcloud :)

https://minfil.org/ - Excellent file host

Pros

  • In Swedish,  but supports direct linking, 5Gb max, no bandwidth limit, very fast servers.
  • Excellent databse that autamaticly finds and merge dublicates.
  • I actually made the design for minfil as I know the guy behind it. :P

Cons:

It's just a bare bone file host really.

Soundcloud.com - Yep

Pros/Cons

  • It's soundcloud... but
  • Its now owned by Google and they are gonna add monetization, to apply for it, click this magic button:

                                                                                                                                 YJDmdHr.png

hearthis.at - Host/store/much more

Pros:

  • Excellent alternative to soundcloud, also seems to be a better place for experimental electronic music like IDM, Breakcore and Glitch, as well to get to know and talk to new producers.
  • Great site with extremely many features. Just try it and you'll see.
  • Allows selling of tracks
  • Seems to be good for promotion

Cons:

  • None that I can think of.

One fo my upload was even weekly #1 in Breakcore! :P

Spoiler

Pcloud.com - cloud service

Pros:

  • The best and the only cloud solution I use, very many features. Great offline sync, nice pricing.
  • Have access to your file on PC without taking actual HDD space with pCloud Drive.
  • Encrypt your private files without giving access to anyone else with pCloud Crypto
  • Use Automatic Upload linked to your DAW map so you always have a backup! (Saved my once, I have about 1.5Tb of stuff)
  • You can set up Upload/download folders in any way you want, you also get stats every weekend what's been downloaded/uploaded. Great for collabs.

Cons:

  • Upload folders requires email to download from, but I assume it's the owner of the folder and not Pcloud who gets the mail.

https://blend.io/

Pros:

  • Nice collab sites that also run competatitions quite efter where you can win some really sweet stuff in competations they have reguraly.
  • You can pull others stems as a way of finding samples, or find others to colab with.
  • Got support for Ableton files directly in the browser.

Cons:

  • Got support for collabs, but it's not the best. The site is quite buggy at times and the site can be hard to navigate on.

http://ge.tt/ Store/Host service

Pros:

  • Excellent choice if you want to have store and not mess with a server for storage.
  • Cheaper than most others (Sellfy, Sampleism.com, etc more

https://resonate.is/ - Kinda like spotify but with more control

Pros:

  • You can earn money per listen, good deals.
  • You can join as a Listener, Musician, Label or Volunteer.

Cons:

  • Still small, only got about 1500~ musicians

Will update the list later, I know a few more!
