Is it coming to Windows Phone 8? With WP8 being based on Windows NT, rather than Windows CE, I guess some changes may be needed from the current mobile version. Hopefully with it taking the core (kernel?) from the standard Windows OS converting programs to run from one to the other should be a fairly simple matter though...

I'm seriously considering buying this for my Android phone, since I'm a underway a lot by bus and train and don't really want to move around my (clumsy) notebook all the time.
The issue is: Is there any user experience in regards of 3.7 inch touchscreens? So far I noticed one video containing a 3.7 inch display but that really didn't do for me.

I mean, I would also try out a demo version but then I could not find any either from scratch.

My 0.02 -- you probably don't want to fuss with a 3.7 inch screen. I bought sunvox for iPad, and while it totally works well on that platform, i did find myself wanting even more real estate. I couldn't imagine navigating that thing on a smartphone. I'd have to be reeeeally jonsing for a studio session away from home to put up with that.

That said, sunvox is really freakin cool, when Renoise isn't within immediate vicinity.

Sunvox is a fantastic modular tracker where you can make the prettiest chiptunes (check Nightradio's own albums), but you probably want at least a 1024x600 screen to use it.

Thanks guys. I was guessing something like that already.
On the other hand, I got rather positive feedback from somewhere else too.

Maybe I'm just going to invest those 4 euros and see how it turns out.

I just got a RME UCX. Soul_resonance was one of my first listens when I got it working in Linux. Very nice!

Does the UCX work well with linux? I've read nothing but issues and bad reports, with it not being quite true Class Compliance and them only caring about getting it working with the iPad being the reason they've gone that route to the extent they have.

I'm going to voice a dissent here. For me, the way the bar dividers work is actually somewhat better suited to smaller screens because you can drag them all the way to the top or bottom with a quick swipe. By contrast, rearranging those bars on a larger screen like the ipad or on the computer using the mouse feels out of place and sluggish.

That being said, there's room for improvement in terms of the efficiency of the UI in general. The recent versions are on the right track (with the scalable machine view and other tweaks). One of my pet peeves at the moment is that multi-sample samplers are such a pain to setup I just end up using multiple samplers to avoid the bother (but this leads to more clutter). It would also be nice to be able to access undo operations without navigating the menu and without the klugy floating toolbar. Still, I think it's a great app.

you're an absolute genius
I love sunvox ...and knowing that it's just a one man's project ...
Kudos ..
Plus it has actual synthesis ..( no the deepest ..but at least it can do some basic fm etc ..)
renoise developers could learn a few things from sunvox ...

Hello nightradio,

sunvox is an impressive tracker. It's so fast, has so many nice concepts and sounds brilliant. There are only some quirks that prevent me from using your software - and I would love to do it. mainly these are: 1. The terminal look of the gui.. Although it feels very fast, it looks like optimized for msdos terminal. I mainly miss a huge pattern editor in the middle with a stationary position in the middle, pixel wise scrolling. The font is too fat and only static width. I would need a more desktop conform gui. The menu bar imo to the top as usual. 2. No vst support. Although your dsp stuff sounds amazing, I cannot live without vsts. I think sunvox could be easily the new buzz 2, in a much better way, if those 2 points would be improved.

And for those VST plugins there would also have to be a 64bit version to really take advantage of them.

I just started using this thing on iOS and it's AMAZING. I started and quit it about a dozen times before actually doing anything with it... I couldn't figure it out. But I checked a couple videos on YouTube, and as soon as I saw how the interface worked, I was in deep.

Probably my favorite thing about it is that when you render to WAV, you can have it render the output of every single device. So say you set up an analog generator and a bunch of effects, when you render, you can get the original generator sound along with every effected version in the chain. Nuts!

And it has midi export (which I haven't tried yet). So with all that... you can create full compositions on the go, with a powerful sound studio. Render everything to samples and have tons to play with in Renoise. And with Renoise midi import, you can use your own synths too... so you can layer VST synths with the samples you get from SunVox, and do all kinds of Renoise sample craziness.

You might not see me on the forums for a while... this thing is too fun. And I'm REALLY looking forward to exporting audio & midi from it and unleashing Renoise on that material!

Hello Alex,

will you one day add VST support? I would love that... Maybe others, too?
