you don’t remember? it became almost a running gag - during america’s invasion of iraq, right up til the end, the iraqi information minister was putting out bizarre reports saying that ‘everything is ok. the americans are being slaughtered. they have taken no ground.’ etc
i found the whole thing (darkly) humorous; anyway my reference in this thread made no sense whatsoever, so you haven’t missed much of a joke
