How do I change the volume of a note after it is triggered?
Simply putting volume data in the volume column doesn’t seem to work like it does for sample based instruments.

d’you have got a MIDI-device controlling the master volume with a knob (as for cutoff, reso, etc)?
Because Renoise can simply record your actions while you turn the knobs of your synthie. Then you simply work with these values. I’m sorry I can’t tell you >the< effect code because I haven’t got my synthie here to make tests. But I hope it helped.

All I got is renoise and my sound card. FM Synth not even being used as I set the instruments in renoise to use a soft synth.

You can’t change the volume of a single note, only the channel volume and expression CC’s. Use *midiCCdevice for this.
