"Længere væk" sounds like the Dutch "langere weg". Put through the translator, it says "further away".

The vocals are top notch. But actually the first thing I noticed is the impulse track. It contains a single peak sample (the unit impulse) that's used to simulate vinyl crackle. Interestingly it sounds different in the XRNS than in the MP3; maybe the result depends on the soundcard?

i like this song, vocals remind me sometimes of elizabeth frazer from times of "cocteau twins", and this is good.

The impulse track just creates a really ugly sound over here. It sounds like when you put an other output in your sound card. oO Not a vinyl crackle at all such as in your mp3.

Loved the song, really beautiful. Both musically and production-wise superb job - no need to say more! :)

Thanks. Bantai's right, it translates to "further away". It's basically me wondering why I sometimes (or often) fail to be the nice guy I'd like to be...

The impulse track just creates a really ugly sound over here. It sounds like when you put an other output in your sound card. oO Not a vinyl crackle at all such as in your mp3.

Hmmm. It's not really supposed to emulate vinyl, must work on that :-)

It's strange that some say it sounds different in the mp3. I just checked and here it sounds the same. I thought for a while that it might have to do with the ogg-compression in the xrns. It wouldn't surprise me it a single sample would come across a bit different when compressed as ogg, but then again I wouldn't know the first thing about what ogg compression does :-)

Loved the song, really beautiful. Both musically and production-wise superb job - no need to say more! :)

Thanks, glad you liked it :-)

The low end either bass or kick distorts in the beginning... would you mind cleaning that up please?

Also,

Would you mind sharing which city in the world you are in please?

Thank you

I pulled the bass (where the vocals enters) a bit back:

I'm not sure it's possible for me to update the files myself. Should I, could I or would you?

Sorry bout that. I'm from Copenhagen, Denmark...

HI,

This is such a good song and awesome vocals is there any way you can try once more to take out the pops and clicks in the track?

Super thanks

Track 06 (impluse) sounds like crackles on my machine? Very irritating. Listened to the MP3 and now understand that it's intended... I don't get it? :(

Otherwise, very nice.

I'm wondering if such pops can damage my speakers/headphones/ears. It's not really pleasant.

Have you compared the sample in the OGG version and the original XRNS yet to see if that explains the difference with the MP3?

I'm confused.

The "cracks and pops" are very intended. They might be a poor execution of an idea, but they are intended. It surprises me if this crowd finds them too much.

Some seem to hear things different in the mp3 and when they playback the xrns (where only the xrns annoys them), others seems to suggest they hear the same thing (and finds both annoying).

Regarding the ogg compression: as far as I can tell, the inpulses are not compressed, since they fall way below the threshold in my xnrs-compression script.

I tried replacing them with an other similar idea, but it's just not the same, I like them just the way they are. So for now (with all the confusion) I decided to leave them.

A single question: If anyone hears them different (more annoying) in the xrns, I'd appreciate it if they could find the time to render it to mp3 and post it to me offlist (contact info here: http://atte.dk/kontakt
