Peter Kirn from http://createdigitalmusic.com/ has promised to post his personal wrap-up and pick the Renoise license winner. Probably later today.

Sorry, but that track was dope. People have different tastes. Votes happen. Run your own contest?

Speaking of tastes, I have no idea how my track placed 6th considering it's a pile of semi-obnoxious noise with a hint of experimental clownstep (and yes, I think this is a *good* thing, but had no ideas others would). In any case, I just want to point out it was a collaboration with ARBRL and I could not have done it without him. So thank you ARBRL and props to yourself. You saved that track.

Good contest! Congrats to all. So many good tracks. That's the way the cookie crumbles.... cutter.

You are welcome, but the main beat and catchy parts is from you. Just put some random melody and other things on an already constructed base.

I think the top 10 reflects enough the taste of each renoisers in a global way, all these top songs are quality after that, to be 1st or 8th for me is similar. It's just music not sport with a winner and losers.... Maybe the word competition is a bit too restrictive.

Anyway congrats to Custard!

No arguements here, im just happy to be in the top 10 :D
Congrats to everyone, sick competition! wish i'd tuned in to the radio show. Has it been recorded? anywhere i can hear it?

Sorry, I don't entrust this results. In my opinion "5 - Moss_-_Rest_On" and some other places it top 12 it's absolutely impossible. I don't understand this and think I never understand this. But anyway congratz to Custard & Modlys.

can't understand this

In the beginning of the show Ron said he was recording it and should be available for download, but I haven't seen it yet.

So, who wins the Renoise license? I was kind of shooting for that price ;)

Well, submit your work to the next beatbattle and hope you end up first.... (or perhaps 5th if the first 4 places contain prizes like top notch VST plugins)

Hi All,

OK I am uploading the live show to the TAG website so it is available now here:

I just want say I can agree with the comments about 'competition' being too restrictive. This was so much more than a competition.

This was special.

Thank you to all the Renoise producers!

Peter Kirn and I were talking at Dubspot Sunday night and we both agree that this competition BLEW AWAY any opinions of what Renoise sounds like, sounds, specific genre etc. That mold is officially shattered and I think we are all moving on to bigger and better with computer based music production. The fact that someone can produce this caliber of music on a netbook will redefine mindsets that we have yet to realize the benefit for years to come! Lets cook this for 2-5 years and see how the dust settles (IMO it will be in all of our favor). Lastly, the incredible amount of global contributions to Indamixx (via Linux community) and all of the songs submitted has placed this contest in a new realm that I have never seen in a contest in the USA. This is the ultimate global collaboration that can never be taken away from all of us!
Rock on brothers!!!
I can't wait for that Renoise Party :)
Thank you
Ronald Stewart

Congrats to the winners! My top had nearly all the same names, just in a different order. Though Agargara - FALK, 00.1 - [001.3]shoal & ASCII Death Star - Space Shuffle should have been way higher imho! :D

Great competition, correct winners..I'm listening to the broadcast atm. :)

Wow, I just learned that I was placed 2nd. What a pleasant surprise!

Congrats to all the winners, esp Custard + my personal favorite, Moss!

It has been fun taking part in the competition, it sure won't be my last time participating.

Sorry, for the delay we had some feedback from the download beta test that 2.6.29 did not support some wifi drivers of mainstream netbooks. So thankfully Robin Gareus and Daniel James got out of tree driver support going for non Indamixx hardware and low latency real time going with 2.6.31 and 2.6.31 RT.
This was a big jump for us as we have added LinuxDSP, Renoise of course upgraded energy XT with many fixes and updates with an improved menu and UI Also, I have been testing on some other improvements for Indamixx Pro line of products. Plus I went the extra mile to make this snazzy tin case for the 100 pieces (basically a very limited edition production run). The response from the all the Renoisers made me really want to put out the absolute best product possible and that has taken some extra time. I really was not comfortable attaching my brand with Renoise and not putting out our best possible work to date. We all have too much of a good thing going to blow our toes off just to rush and put something out that is not up to snuff. I guess that's the artists still in me. And oh yeah I actually slept an entire week over Thanksgiving, which was the first time I have really slept in 2 years :)
Hold tight please... it's coming.

Thank you
Ron
