But btw: I really would like get all those character grabbing hacks removed, instead of partially trying to support this.
Only text fields can grab text. There’s IME (to enter stuff like Japanese & co with a western styled keyboard). All this won’t work with the “character” hack anyway.
What you want is keeping a textfield focus sticky.
So please lets at least not copy and paste this hack into every single tool.
Well, i already noted on your comment the sticky option was my favorite.
It would be my pleasure to trade in the full character support option for this.
The note-value is handy though -> Then it doesn’t matter if you have QWERTY or AZERTY or QWERTZ etc keyboard,
