Vst3 And Vsti Midirouting

will renoise have VST3 support someday? and what’s so different between vst v2.6 and v3 ?

besides that, there are vst instruments (vsti) which don’t produce sound themself but
can route their output to another vsti. i can’t remember what the name for this is
but i think you know what i mean? :)

7ALiens Catanya is one for exsample, or Harmony Improvisator by synleor/cochleor.

and another question is, i’ve heard/read that using a 64bit daw wouldn’t improve
audio creation. but it would make the workflow more fluidly or not?
and how is it with 32bit daw’s and 64bit vst plugs. does that work?

VST3 is a dud. I don’t think anyone except Cubase is interested in adapting the standard enthusiastically.

I don’t understand. Is this like “more magical” or something?

Can work with technology such as jBridge: jBridge ( for Windows ) | J's stuff

so there’s not much advantage in the new vst v3 ?

faster processing and stuff. what about cuda?

i’m trying it out as we speak … renoise is scanning the folder… already since a while now :(

The benefits of VST3 over VST2 are numerous. There are more and more plug-ins that don’t come in VST2, the most recent one I’d love to use in Renoise being Steinberg SLM 128. Not being able to use plug-ins because Renoise doesn’t support the interface is sad, especially when there are so many benefits in the new interface.

Finally… looks at Reaktor

Some of the mentioned things also exist with VST 2.4 and 2.6, like audio input. (See the Side chain plugin and Senderella, they use it and it works fine)
When it regards to such features, Steinberg created an internal protocol for it, but was not necessarily a restriction for plugins that required that functionality in 2.4 or 2.6 standard.

Wow!! Thank you maan!!

trackers have had the best 'note expression’s before they were even dreamt of in “real” daws. too bad that hasn’t been leveraged (forwarded to vsts) or advertised more.

but, yeah…

I would like to see VST3 support on renoise purly for the Roland System1…

I cannot use Renoise anylonger since i got a motif xs. The vst bridge is VST3.

Joule, maybe try osx and AU ?

Joule, maybe try osx and AU ?

  1. I am using Windows.

  2. There is no AU plugin for the motif XS8.

I am currently using Studio One, and will eventually try rewiring it to Renoise. Not too keen on that workflow though…

didnt know this thread was still alive

so is there a way??? vstforx doesnt seem to have grown bigger or so.

is it so hard to include vst3 into renoise?
