Well that's pretty much it.
When you have a sample on, say, line 16 and you program a lines/beat change also on line 16
autoseek enabled samples wil reset to the beginning in the next pattern.
not when you play through but when you stop and start the song somewhere in the patterns after the lines/beat change.
hope I made myself clear :)

I used renoise rendered files and for lines/beat I used the automation in the master channel.

Tried this here but could not break autoseek this way. Would you mind posting a small example XRNS?

sure! here you go.
first pattern triggers the sample and the L/B and BPM change.
the second pattern plays the sample to early when manually retriggered.
there is also a second sample in it. This is a render of the output synced to pattern to hear where it should start.
