The second release candidate is now available, clearing a few small issues with external MIDI instruments & latency, and a problem with collapsed tracks and the "auto collapse" mode in the pattern editor.

Regged versions can be downloaded from the backstage: http://backstage.renoise.com
Demo versions can be downloaded from: http://www.renoise.com/demo

---

2.8 final release is scheduled to next week, unless we have to struggle with some unexpected bugs or other show stoppers. As we did for RC1 already, we will ignore any "small" issues now, trying to concentrate on getting what we have stable. Nothing more. Everything else has to wait. This for sure is not the last Renoise release.

---

One quick note regarding collapsed tracks:

We did not allow deleting notes/FX in collapsed tracks so far with the delete key, but have changed this in RC2 along the other fixes. The reason we did not allowed this so far, was that you don't really see what you delete. But on the other hand you could record, enter notes on collapsed tracks, and also delete content when for example cutting selected parts of the pattern, so this was not really consistent either. When hitting delete on a collapsed track it does now clear everything in the line - multiple notes/FX - anything.

Superb, shortly tested live rendering, midi latency in midi-ext and midi-ret mode - everything seems to work very precise and stable!

Seems my Evolution MK-361C midi keyboard isn't recognised at all. Can't see it in the MIDI tab.

I use it via USB.

It still works fine in 2.7.2 and all my other USB show up in 2.8 RC2 but never the Evolution keyboard.

Sorry if this was already reported or fixed, I've been late following this up.

Are you using the 64-bit version of Renoise and are your USB drivers 64-bit? If the latter isn't true, what happens if you try the 32-bit version of Renoise 2.8?

OS is 64 bit Windows 7
Hmm I don't use specific drivers for the keyboard, just installs when I plug in, never really needed them. I don't even know if they exist for this older type :(
The 32 bit renoise 2.8 works fine!

EDIT: I checked, there are no downloadable drivers, it's listed as to just install by default when plugged in -> http://www.m-audio.c...t.drivers&f=979
