I posted this on IRC a few days ago, but got around to tidying up the links and thought I'd better post it on here.

Below are direct links to the sample packs from SampleRadar. SampleRadar is by the same people who make Future Music and Computer Music magazine (I think these are the samples off their magazine coverdisks). They are packaged in categories and new ones appear approximately once a week. New links appear on the SampleRadar twitter feed. The zip files range in size from 50mb to 800mb each, and are usually around 200-300mb. They are approximately 30gb compressed (35gb uncompressed) and comprise of approximately 40,000 samples.

The license is as follows:

The samples are supplied as 24-bit WAV files so can be imported directly into your DAW of choice. Because they're royalty-free, you're welcome to use them in your music in any way you like - all we ask is that you don't re-distribute them.

There are a lot of loops and construction kits, but some multisamples and many single hits. You can always chop out sounds from the loops with the sample editor.

Enjoy!

I have downloaded a couple of these packs. They do require a lot of work to disassemble if there are no separate samples of each sound. Also loads of prebaken loops (whether it is beats, chords or leads / arps). The multisample instruments are poorly present and those that are multi, contain only a few notes per octave. Nevertheless, if you like hours of previewing sounds, these packs are gold.

Just updated the list and I'll give this a bump this time as we probably have new users who are not aware of this list.

enjoy :)

Oh cool, IMO this should be stickied.  I've seen the samples before but they're the devil to sort through on the website.  Much easier having them in list form like this.

someone know a legit source of reggea loop samples (drums only or drums plus bass).

no need to be a huge pack, just a bunch of clean good ones, so i can test something out.

years ago i had stuff from sly dunbar&robbie shakespeare on a cd, which is all gone since i lend it out to

someone, who doesnt know the inner sense of "lend out".

Try the dub drums linked by the dreamer,  if it's the pack I am thinking of it may suit.

yep already did it, its dub stuff, but not bad. unfortunately the heavy hall sometimes sounds well on sliced samples, but very often just sonds aweful.

Indeed they are S.O.C. :D

If you are interested in more free sample packs, I started a thread cataloging those and other free stuff I have stumbled upon in my travels here:

The little-scale libraries have been useful to me lately, he has various content but the best are the samples of old sound and speech synthesizer chips: http://little-scale....bel/sample sets
