as the title says. how do i go about setting up NI razor vocoder in renoise?

When reading the manual this is what the bottom part says about what is needed:

When i look at the Ableton description, in there you have to insert Razor as an effect which is already giving a clue as of what it uses for modulation or how it generates its modulation signal.
Iā€™m not sure if Razor is listed as an effect in Renoise, but if it is, then try adding it as an effect to the track where you want to seed your modulation signal.

Processing the carrier is a bit more difficult to pinpoint where it exaclty needs the midi from, but i can give you directions what you can try:
Select the Razor VST instrument plugin in one of the instruments in the instrument list.
Pick another empty instrument slot and now go to the alias section on top of the whole VST instrument plugin list and select the Razor FX Alias plugin (not the VST instrument alias!).

Thanks to vV, I managed to get this working. This is basically how you do it:

  1. You need two tracks; one for the MIDI input and one for the vocals (that will modulate the MIDI notes).
  2. Add a vocal to track 2; it doesnā€™t matter what it is yet, just add something so you know if itā€™s working or not.
  3. Add _Reaktor 5_as an effect to track 2, open Razor and then pick any of the Vocoder presets.
  4. Find an empty instrument slot, click the Plugin tab (F7) and underneath VST FX Alias , find and select ā€œVST FX alias: Reaktor5 FXā€. Be sure to select the correct one (look at its track number).
  5. Use the instrument created in step 4 to play notes in track 1.
  6. You should now be hearing the notes in track 1 modulated by the vocal in track 2.

I hope I havenā€™t forgotten any steps. Please let me know, and Iā€™ll edit and fix it.
