I’m primarily using 3.0 now, but wanted to load a non renoise instrument (battery or exs I think). The “Additional File Format Import” tool, shown here: http://www.renoise.com/tools/additional-file-format-import-support doesn’t yet work in 3.0 (as far as I’m aware), BUT, you can load an instrument in 2.8, save it in renoise, as a renoise instrument, and then load it in 3.0. Found this out from seeing myself, thought I’d share incase it wasn’t completely obvious. 
It was obvious but didn’t come to my mind… thanks I was struggling with .exs files
