I firmly believe that the reason renoise filters are despised by many is because they don’t distort (waveshape) the signal afterwards like any other ‘good’ filter plugin.
Not even the moog at the gain levels that a sample going through a sample modulation set can possibly reach.
I propose a formula device kind of (A/B/C inputs including) sample modulation dsp that would waveshape the signal according to the supplied formula, negative and positive sides of the signals independently, with oversampling as well if possible.
This will give renoise a very powerful synthesis system.
