File Name: MS-20 Driven Filter

File Submitter: danoise

File Submitted: 27 Aug 2014

File Category: Instruments

License: Custom License

KORG MS20 (re-issued model) with a highly resonant filter, playing through the entire scale from B2 - B8

Pro-tip: the resonant tone is self-oscillating and thus adds specific under/overtones to the entire range. Therefore, if your song has a different basenote, try moving the keyzones and adjusting transpose - the instrument will completely change it's character

Nice.  I have a question, do you have the pre assembled MS20 or did you order the kit where you built it yourself?  I'm in the market for an MS20 but I want to know if there is a difference between assembling it yourself or not.  It's like a $1000 difference here in the states.

I got the preassembled version last year.

But I would accept $1000 dollars for assembling the thing myself any time. Seems like a good offer!

Can you share simple waves from ms 20
Maybe that's useful.

@BpZ: already have done that.

Multisampled Saw/Square/Sine/Triangle are all part of the Renoise 3 instrument library.

Go to Disk Browser > Instruments > Renoise Library (icon at the right side) > Elements, then look for MS20...

I did fix the tuning in those instruments though, as some of these waves were dropping as much as half a semitone toward the lower end.

This Driven Filter instrument, on the other hand, sounds exactly like it did when it left the synth.
