Track editor.

Years ago i’ve used Skale Tracker as my main daw, but it was buggy and glitchy all the way and finally Baktery (the coder man behind Skale) seized all developments, so this event forced me to switch to Renoise. I remember a very nice and handy feature there called Track Editor, to give you the idea of this, just check out the screens attached. I guess this could be somehow very useful sometimes, also would be a nice companion to the existing automation system in Renoise. What you Renoise devs thinks of this? Is it hard to code this into Renoise? Do you think it is necessary?

p.s. The lower part shows selected track with 3 colums - the track notes, volume and effect column. At the right part you just select any kind of effect command (like retrigger Rxx for example) and draw some kind of a vertical envelope with the mouse.

+1

Yes, I miss some sort of native slider implementations for all values. I have made a couple of tools that help with this, though they do not extend to pattern fx:

I`m finding I use this all the time now:

A bit more experimental but can be useful too, it hacks into the renoise automation lane:

Yeah, i saw your new tool and its instantly reminded me of this Track Editor feature in Skale, thats why the topic was started.

Hopefully this will make it onto the renoise todo list aswell.

+1, being able to just mouse in velocities very quickly is one thing I miss from piano rolls

This is a very nice idea for a pianoroll-alike solution! (p.s. but really i do not see any purpose of this for myself, because there are much more important features missing in Renoise)
