New tool: GotoNextFxOnOff

I’ve had a habit of turning audio devices on and off using pattern effects. This seems be a bad idea, since it can introduce clicks in the audio. So I created a small tool to track down the places in a song, where I did this. Hope others find it useful too.

When installed, the tool is found in the Pattern Editor->Track menu.

Nice tool!

I have found it a bit tricky not to loose sight of where & when these commands appear.
It might make me want to automate those checkboxes even more!

Thanks.

It’s a bit OT here, but does this mean that you don’t have problems with getting clicks when automating on/off? I used to do alot of mutes this way, insert a gainer with the gain all the way down, and then turning it on for a really quick and dry mute. In the beginning it works well, but when the project grows I start to get clicks… But not you?

Yes, of course. It’s just that sometimes you don’t care much about clicks, or it might only be switched on when rendering stems (to save CPU).
There are several good reasons to automate the on/off state, it’s just never really been easy to locate those darned x00x commands.

New version up. Massive performance improvement! Forget the old version, this one rocks…
