Phrase on

I have a problem with the Phrase.

When i have a phrase off and i press play the phrase stay off.

When i press stop the phrase automaticallygoes on.

Can someone help

Thanks

So, you have a note in the pattern editor which trigger a phrase?

And somehow this note will start playing the phrase once it receives a note-off, and stop when being triggered?

That doesn’t really sound like it’s a problem with the phrase, but rather the instrument inside it.

You can easily program an instrument e.g. to have a volume envelope that stays silent while the note is “playing”, and then turns up the volume once the note is released.

Try disabling the phrase and see if anything changes?

The problem is when i start and stop the song.

When i have an instrument with a phrase off from the phrase editor and i push song play the phrase stay off but when i stop the song the phrase turn on automatically!!

If i haven’t focus at this instrument (Instrument Selector Area) the problem disappear.

Any answers…

i try it at a friend PC and don’t have problem there.

I don’t understand what going on…

I restart renoise and reset the key properties but is the same.

Is a way to completely remove renoise of my PC.

I’m still with windows xp because my sound card don’t have drivers for update…

RPM Hammerfall.

I must go to LINOX.

Any answers…

I’ve tried to follow your description several times, but I simply cannot replicate the problem here in both Renoise 3.0 and 3.0.1 — the phrase remains off, and never turns itself on mysteriously.

Can you perhaps give exact step-by-step instructions to recreate the problem?

For example:

  • Go to the pattern editor
  • Give focus to the instrument list
  • Start the song by clicking the play button in the transport controls
  • and so on…
Or perhaps you can even record a video of the problem happening on your system?

Hey dbloe

I do that many times…

Go to the pattern editor

Give focus to the instrument list

Start the song by clicking the play button in the transport controls

and so on.

I remember (not sure) that happen when i restart Stepp0r and open the renoise OSC.

I don’t have a Launchpad…

My steps were just an example… I’m asking you to tell us exactly what you are doing, step by step, to make this problem happen.

Sorry, but you’ve never mentioned any of these things before. What does Stepp0r, OSC and Launchpad have to do with this problem?

I’m rather confused now.

Step 1 open Renoise

Step 2 give a phrase as it is…or write something

Step 3 DISABLE the phrase

Step 4 Start the song

PHRASE DOND PLAY

Step 5 Stop the PLAY

here is the problem

the phrase go to ON.

I DON’T CATEGORY THE TOOL!!

I Just try to remember when…

I followed those steps, but couldn’t make the phrase begin playing.

Also tried with the xrns file you shared. So I wonder if…

i try it at a friend PC and don’t have problem there.

Maybe you have some tool installed that change the default behavior?

Something that would trigger a MIDI note, for example.

That would explain why it’s behaving differently at your friends place.

Try going to the tools browser and disable (just disable, not uninstall) all of your tools and see if that helps?

I will try to find what tool is…

Well, I’ll be damned…Yes, I’m running that tool as well.

I have to look into this, obviously. I think I have an idea already

No you aren’t damned.

You are a good man and very useful person here in this forum.
