32bit tools not communicating with launchpad (64bit is fine)

I have two laptops: one is a Win 8.1 64bit and the other is a Win XP (service pack 3, I think) 32bit. The 64bit machine works perfectly with Duplex and Live Dive and my Launchpad Mini. The 32bit machine (using the correct 32bit versions of the tools) treats the Launchpad like a normal unmapped midi controller, the tools don’t see it at all. I’m sure this is a driver or library issue on my machine but I don’t know where to start looking to figure it out. This machine has no internet connection so I load everything manually via usb. Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this?

I was able to resolve this by installing Automap, letting it identify the launchpad mini, and then disabling automap. After that Renoise labeled it correctly. Apparently the needed drivers or whatever were contained in the automap download. So everything is working perfectly on both my systems now.
