So the other day I had a really cool jam session where I hooked up the pads on my MIDI controller to the track mutes in Renoise. I think this is a pretty common way to do things. It was really fun just playing a single loop I made and turning things on and off in real time.
Basically I recorded a session where I just jammed out on the mutes and recorded the track live, and I was able to record a track without painstakingly sequencing out the track in the pattern sequence editor.
Anyways, it made me wonder, it would be pretty ideal to be able to RECORD these mute on/offs while the loop is playing, and then use them to generate a sequence. Then I could go back and edit the sequence. It would speed up track-making so much to be able to just jam-out the track live, and then go back and edit the sequence. Anyone have any good tips on how to do something like this?
