I love drumming on my table and ive got this idea…
Every material has different frequency response when you hit it. I wanna asign these frequency into midi, i dont need velocity or something else.
For example:Is there anyway how to assign frequency response of hitting glass to one note and hitting wooden table to another?
It should be fairly easy to develop it but i cant find anything like that for pc (i know there is some simillar application for ipad).
If Renoise can send midi into instruments it can be done by analyzing input, inserting line input device + signal follower with bandpass filter. But it cant
I’m sure I’ve seen a few Max patches out there that attempt this. And there are a few that employ piezo mics, like this. Or what about these. Not exactly Mi.Mu gloves and quite evil in that they would seperate you from the tactile qualities that make your table stand out from the pack.
Jiku: Ive got no problem create this in pure data for example. I am talking about VST that recieve audio and send out midi.
And i know about these controllers (there are plenty of them). I am talking about VST solution (so i will change a topic a little :-).
But thank you.
I wanna use mic in my laptop, it should be enough for very rough version of what i need.
Thank you, but both tools are not cheap. I hope somebody will know about free or very cheap alternative. I dont wanna script :-).
I will look at Mux also btw.
I think I remember finding another free VST that did something like this, or maybe it was a native Reaper thing… have to look around a bit but KTDrumTrigger does work, just can be difficult to find the right settings.
Edit: right, forget, the other way I know of doing this is native to Reaper but I think can be found in the free ReaPlugs version of the native plugs – convert gate response to MIDI output. Don’t think this’ll work in Renoise, though, with no MIDI out from VST FX. KTDrumTrigger is more versatile anyway
should also note, KTDrumTrigger worked best when I recorded each hand with a separate microphone, having all “drum sounds” on a single track made it much harder for the plug to detect and output MIDI properly

Thank you, it is what i was looking for! I am not going to create complicated setup so it should work fine.
Danoise and midi error: PureData cant be used as a vst and max is commercial. I will try KTDrumTrigger together with IL Modular minihost so it will work with renoise maybe. Otherwise i will use Tracktion.
I know that there is a free application for MAC OS that looks like puredata and you can export AU from it. I forget the name but it was a great tool. But i am not on MAC anymore.
