Redux window too big with Logic Pro X?

Ok, Let me start of by saying Logic Pro X is not so “logical” everytime, and when I’ve thought about this for a while I realize the mainproblem seems to be that it has some kind of default layout with an area ofupper frame which takes some space and therefore I’m unable to view the lower part of Redux.

I have a MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012 and theRedux window in Renoise fits perfectly, so screen-size settings shouldn’t matter I think.

In previous versions of Logic Pro I was able to adjust the size of the plug-ins (being able to hide upper frame would be the best solution though). But in recent versions they’ve removed that feature, which doesn’t make any sense to me.I’ve started a topic regarding this at Logic Pro Help.

However with that being said; Logic Pro X is one of the most popular DAWs today, and what were your thoughts considering this upon creating the size of the Redux-window? And are there any workarounds somehow?

I’m not really expecting any help, but it would be appreciated.

In Logic, I believe you can hide that ridiculously oversized plugin window header by clicking the small button in the upper right corner. Hopefully that will at least be enough to reveal more of Redux’s window, where you can grab the resize handle and make the window smaller for future sessions. Or is that what you’re saying has changed in Logic Pro X — the hide button no longer works? (Don’t have a Mac here to test at the moment)

OMG lol, thank you!

To answer your question: No, I just wasn’t aware of the button to begin with (which I should since I’m well versed in Logic Pro X). It does just exactly like I wanted; hiding the frame (no resizing afaik but it isn’t needed), so now I can see everything.

How ironic but greatness btw, I’m getting Logic Pro support at Renoise Forum - and very quickly that is, while my topic at the other forum is still waiting for “approval”. :guitar:

It would be quite strange indeed if they’ve fully disabled resizable windows for plugins, as it’s been a fairly standard thing for many years now.

If it is supported, then you should see the resize handle in the bottom right corner of Redux’s window.

You should be able to adjust it to a more comfortable size, and then that size will be remembered next time you load Redux.

You’re right once again, you can resize as well - thanks! It might come in handy actually.

I have to say these features are quite hidden though*, but it’s the first time more or less I actually needed to do this.

  • Instinctive old PC behaviour/thinking from my side is overshadowing perhaps as well. :stuck_out_tongue:
