Pattern Editor: Drag & Drop selected between patterns with mouse

I wonder if this would be possible.I describe stepper…

  1. Edit in Pattern Editor
  2. Create 2 patterns, 0 and 1
  3. Compose notes in pattern 0
  4. select notes below in pattern 0 (notes or parameters or all)
  5. drag and drop selected above in pattern 1 with mouse (this is not possible!)

This will accelerate corrections between pages. Now, Renoiseonly allows drag and drop the selected within the same pattern, not between patterns.

It is a small detail, but it helps!!

I welcome enhanced mousing in the pattern editor, but right now you could use keyboard shortcuts; ctrl+x to cut away the notes. ctrl+cursor up/down to go to the previous/next pattern & ctrl + v to paste back in.

Djeroek,I know, I know the commands… ^_^and use much. But there are things that can be improved,as described in this topic.

This afternoon I was composing, and I thought while I correcting:“well, if it were this added would be great!!!”

I use a MIDI keyboard and record live the main theme or complex melodies. Later, I correct the notes (displacing the rows, delay, etc).

Sunday afternoons are for compose music

Oh by the way, I invite anyone who tries to doing. He will see what happens .Drag and drop between consecutive patterns with mouse!!!It is as if something is missing to program.

If you mean, marking all things you want in the pattern editor in a pattern, and drag it into the next pattern from inside the pattern editor into inside the pattern matrix, yeah, some weird things are going on, that’s right. On the right side in the pattern editor you can unfold the advanced pattern editor operations. There are options for copying, cutting, pasting, etc. for the whole pattern, or just several tracks of a pattern or just specific rows (e.g. the fx commands only) and even for just a specific selection. There you can e.g. copy what you want, then switch to another pattern and paste it in where you need it. But you have to do it with the commands into these advanced operation tab. That’s one way you can do it, or use the keyboard shortcuts. Yes, it would be nice, to copy it from inside the pattern editor into the next pattern by dragging it into the next one.

But if you have enabled “View multiple patterns continously” in the preferences GUI settings, and want drag it into the next pattern which is then shown a bit darkened out below the current one, this is not possible. Because this GUI setting is just a help for visual orientation while your song is playing. Let’s say a small preview of the next pattern, that follows the actual playing. But it would be nice to do it, yes.

Thanks for the comments! Yes,I know all the necessary commands and advanced editing column.

This is the subject.Work only with the keyboard is powerful. But also work with the keyboard + mouse (or mouse only). To also work with the mouse, when you edit between patterns, requires releasing the mouse, and use commands. That the separation of patterns is not a barrier for the mouse.

Everyone knows that Renoise works very well with the commands. But it can also be improved with the use of the mouse (only left click all the time, select, drag and drop in pattern contiguous), Renoise team already is improving, with new features. This would be a more.

Be able to drag and drop between two consecutive patterns with mouse would be a great feature.
