Standalone Piano Roll app on Windows?

I was wondering if there existed a simple piano roll app that could output midi to Renoise?

I don’t know your O.S., but Minihost Modular can be used in that way.

(erm, if you’re talking about vsts and such)

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m on both El Capitan and Windows 10 so that seems like a good option.
Are you using it as a vst that generates MIDI to other vsts in Renoise? If so, is it stable enough to use it live? (seeing it’s been in beta since more than half a year).

energyXT might qualify. Has standalone and VST. Or MuLab? Think it can output MIDI. Not a VST though I think.

I personally found minihost modular to be more practical, because of its minimality and VST format. Is it possible to record the midi notes in a pattern? That way I can remove the plugin instance once I finished my melody.

EDIT: Nevermind I just found out how to do it with a new dedicated loopMIDI port.
