This month marks the 1-year anniversary of my Renoise purchase and of my decision to start making music. I’m certainly still learning, and this is the first song I’ve done where I’m making use of a recorded performance to such a great extent. There have been brief bass and vocal parts I’ve recorded myself in past songs, but Mervin’s trumpet performance really gives this one something extra.

This song uses a number of samples from video game consoles; I’d originally intended for it to sit squarely* in the chiptune category, but wound up taking it in a different direction.

*That’s a PWM joke.
