Got my new project it's first wave of merchandise, and it required

Figured some of you guys using bandcamp to host music and sell merch might be interested in this.

You can do your own basic designs to create men and women’s t-shirts and hoodies, and then integrate it directly to your bandcamp merch page (takes about 24 hours to verify the vendor with bandcamp). You create your items and mark them up from the base price by a few dollars (tone threads recommends $6), comes in a variety of colors of your choosing. They collect the orders and ship them out, then shoot you the overhead via paypal. I was saving up and looking into getting some shirts done, then came across this and decided to give it a try since it required no start up costs. And I’m told that they will do front and back print, but it needs to be ordered in bulk to keep the cost down (just like anywhere else really). You can check out how it integrates with bandcamp if you want by checking out my page, it’s just like any other item you put up there so it’s totally non-intrusive. They also provided the pictures to use for the items, very good mock ups.

hope this is helpful to some of my fellow renoisers!

PS: if you do try this out and get confused at any step, there is a HELP link in the lower right corner of whatever page you are on that provides very detailed info to get going, it was very helpful with the bandcamp setup since that part of it can be a little confusing at first.

I went to try this out, but it’s poorly set up. I want to title my shirt “Maximum R&D”, but I keep seeing this: “Please use only letters, numbers, dashes and spaces.”

No ampersand allowed? Is that some odd strange difficult character to use?

Little things like this tell me the people behind it are likely unskilled coders. Feels amateurish. I’d worry about issues down the line.

Useless to me.

I make my own graphics in photoshop and just upload the design, sold my first shirt a few days ago and all seems to be going well so far, no issues on my end. I couldn’t use apostrophes in my titles (IE: Men’s T-Shirt) when setting up but I didn’t see it as a big deal. Try R and D instead.

I haven’t looked at the fine print but it seems like a great way to get the ball rolling for merch. I bet selling your first shirt has to feel rewarding, regardless of who made it and how. Congrats man!

$28 bucks for a hoodie? If it’s a decent sweeter than it looks like the fan isn’t getting screwed, pretty good deal actually.

Just came across this. I’m the owner of ToneThreads. The special character restriction is no longer there. This was put in place when we launched a year ago initially because of our Bandcamp integration and limitations with their URLs and we have since changed the way this works on our end. Thanks!

Thanks very much for the update. I’ll take another look
