Tape Stop effects

I would like to know , how does one create a tape stop effect in Renoise?

Render selection to sample, in new instrument apply an envelope device to pitch, decay from 0 semi tones to anywhere from 5 to 24 steps below the root. Play with envelope points and length until you get a sound that works.

In what part of the sampler do I decay the semi tones?

If you don’t want to mess around with pitch envelopes inside the sampler, then don’t forget about the humble pitch slide commands.

A simple D80 over a few lines will give a pretty rapid pitch slide down. You can play with different values to slide faster or slower, change the effect over time, etc.

Obligatory quick demo:

dblue, true!

You can also ‘stack’ the pitch commands using multiple fx columns for more dramatic sliding  .

Can you also make recordingrhythmic scratches using these pitch commands?
