AirMusic + Sonivox plugin works fine for some hours, then dead

Hello all. For the first time I experienced this in Renoise

For Christmas I bought as a gift for myself some AirMusic and Sonivox plugins. Yesterday I installed the synth Loom (AirMusic), played with it in Renoise, had a lot of fun with it.

A few hours later I want to open my document again, and get the error message:

vYtM40E.jpg

Rebootet the PC, problem still exists. The 32-bit Loom still works in Renoise, 64-bit version still appears in the plugin list, but failed to open. One day later, today after work, I can still reproduce the issue.

It happens under Windows 10. Everything that is involved (Windows, Renoise, Loom) is up to date.

The logfile contains these lines:

I must remark, that I tried it right now to load in Reaper - there the 64 bit plugin works, but the 32 bit version does not show up at all in their plugin list.

So I conclude, that’s maybe not a problem of the host, but of the plugin itself.

Is there somewhere a cache file or something that must be deleted to make it work again as yesterday?

Then, with a Sonivox plugin (I believe it was Big Bang Percussions) I experienced that Renoise suddenly advised me not to use it anymore. Unfortunately I cannot remember the message exactly, as I did not make a screenshot. Will try to reproduce it another time and come back to this one later. But I must admit, that also Sonivox seems to have their issues depending on the host, as I reported in the discodsp bliss forum recently. It still works in Renoise, because I ignored the message - but, do I have to be worried to use it?

Edit: I forgot to say that it is running on an Intel Pentium CPU G3240, 3,1 GHz with 16 GB Ram, Focusrite 2i2

Here I found more information in the log file (by searchin backwards for the term “crash”) . My logfile is more than 27000 lines long, impossible to post the complete log file here

Right now I also posted the problem and an excerpt of the log file to the Sonivox support forum. Will inform you here, if they have an explanation or solution.

I almost assume that some of the most expensive plugins on my PC are less reliable than some freeware made with SynthEdit.

Here’s an answer from Sonivox: “notofficially supported for use on Windows 10 at this time. However, I’ll be happy to submit this to my software team as a feature request for you”

What a nice surprise!

Now let’s contact air music. Will report the result here.

Man, that sucks. (No problem up to now with twist/BigBangDrums from that bundle, I did not try the others yet).

Good for you, if you still use a Windows version <10.

I just figured out that only the “Sonivox Single” plugins officially support version 10, but all other plugins from that package seem to be kind of outdated.

But fortunately the support staff realized, that it would be a good idea to request Windows 10 compatibility as a new feature (Neuland? :w00t: )

Some user in the Sonivox forum taught me, that I can start Renoise in Windows 8 compatibility mode, that seems to solve the “Sonivox” part of the problem… the missing plugin Loom is still missing in Renoise (screenshot in my initial post), though another host can find it…
