Problems with Renoise V3.1 x64 on Windows 10 x64

Hi guys,

Renoise does not run really stable on my new machine. When starting renoise, everything seems fine. Loading and playing a song works like a charme. Suddenly, my left monitor (I have a 2 monitor setup) goes black and windows prompts that there is a problem with the display driver. Everything what was displayed at the second monitor is now displayed at the main monitor. Renoise crashes immeditaly before or sometimes after that event. First thing I thought was some vst instruments going wild but I have only 2 vsts installed at the moment and the above written happens with songs where no vst is involved.

The described situation only happens with renoise involved and is not easy to reproduce because sometimes renoise runs for 2 or 3 hours without any sign of a problem. Other applications running fine on this machine.

Anybody has a clue what is going on here?

Thanks

Michael

Judging from your machines specs you might be able to have/buy a card that can run without Asio4All. The Steinberg Asio driver is the best.

Ok but this will have nothing to do directly withFailed to create an offscreen surface with size 360,366

Just trying to find anything at all.

If anything ever fails with the word ‘graphics’ in it, update/downgrade the graphics driver.

toblerpone: I might be mistaking, but aren’t all these drivers updated automatically in Win10?

Maybe you can try the 32-bit version just to see if the same thing happens, i don’t think it should make any difference, but can’t hurt to try? Try running a 3d game, see if that works.

Maybe one of these links could lead you to a solution:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/279001

http://wccftech.com/fix-windows-10-nvidia-driver-conflicts/

TheBellows: Pretty sure they aren’t unless you tick it in driver manufacturer’s installer. Microsoft personally would not risk it.

Hi guys,

just to let you know: I am using a Focusrite Saffire Interface right now and with ASIO the problem seems to be gone. I think it is/was a problem with ASIO4ALL.

Thanks for the hints.

If anything ever fails with the word ‘graphics’ in it, update/downgrade the graphics driver.

I am using windows 10, 32-bit pc.I am unable to run this on my pc.I did the above steps, yet the result was same.
