Help: audio and video sync

I’m working on a short film soundtrack and would love to use renoise to build it. Is there any tool that makes it possible to sync a video to Renoise’s song workflow? A plugin, maybe?

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:

Simplest way: use Reaper or Studio One with the video in, and use Renoise as a rewire instrument instead.

Hi Napoli.Strictly speaking, it is the composer who synchronizes the audio to the sequence of the video. The DAW (as Cubase or Pro Tools) can provide a list to add points or markers, a dash (to sync audio to video and shoot).Renoise is not meant for this purpose.

However, you can build your own metronomes (with frases), and control the playback speed of your audio for each chunk of the movie, changing the tempo, speed, as appropriate. You can use the names of each pattern, (display left column) and the section name to mark each point in the movie. It is somewhat complicated like that, but it could be achieved. You will have to use a video player and respect the times of the video. What could help here is a small function inside a tool that will reveal the time that lasts for each pattern or range, according to the values of BPM and LPB, Simple to build with a bit of math.

A good way to get started here is to create an XRNS template for your project. And create separation points, to determine where to launch the melody and where to stop, and where to change the speed, if necessary.Actually, with a good template and some support tool designed for that purpose, it could work with some ease. But you will have to massively use the name of each pattern to point things out.

Personally, I am very interested in this topic.Renoise seems to be intended for experimental and free music, but it is an excellent tool for symphony orchestra, although it does not seem so.It is an excellent notes trigger, which is what really matters. In the only thing that maybe you will have problems in the launch of the video of a player exactly along with the audio of the DAW, to resolve adjustments continuously. That is why I say that Renoise is not intended for this purpose.

Maybe using Renoise as slave with Rewire along with another DAW, you can get it, but this is not what you want.

Thank you so much guys, this Rewire solution was very helpful! It would be awesome if Renoise had this option itself, though
