Is it possible to load samples and have the loop (forward) always on?
This would be a great help for my workflow…

This is something wave file header contains (I mean info about whether its a looped sample and where is sample start/end). You need to batch process Your samples wiith some software that can modify this. Then renoise will load them with the loop on.
Well, I’d like it to loop in Renoise so even if it does have that info in - how would renoise interpret that?

Renoise will pick up the header information from the file and loop type will be used automatically without further intervention. You may be able to do this through LUA for a solution inside Renoise. Personally I think that a tool to set a set of samples to loop is a bit overkill. There are quite a few programs out there to batch edit the files though. Something like LoopAuditioneer can even batch crop to loop regions.

Just to explain I’m auditioning loops for my sample packs - Ableton would be the natural answer to this but it doesnt allow you to edit the text or delete files while they are in the daw.

Actually, it surprising that most major DAWs including Ableton do not have better bulk-management or even sample management features. I think if you go along the route of an actual audio editor opposed to a DAW you will find more features you need. Something like Adobe Audition would probably work out better for your auditioning =).
Not really, cos I’m auditioning loops with loops ! I use audition for editing though
If you have an instrument with lots of samples you may select the samples in the container you want to loop and then just set the loop in sample properties. It will change all the selected samples to loop in one click.
