Happy Grime

My latest oxymoronic beat. Intention is, that Mzees spit to that but the frequency layer is very thin on that one. :smashed:

The intro blew my mind, in particular the bass part and the synth arp bell that pan. Very nice job man !

Thanks man. It is supposed to be G locrian. I hope it sounds like G locrian. :badteeth:

Anyway, it should be hard to spit on that. The vocal frequency space is already allocated, so it is basically not a good beat. Or I need a good Multiband Compressor.

And I have to give special thanks to http://forum.renoise.com/index.php/user/21597-zeograd/ for supplying the orchestral instruments. Really helpful.

You’re welcome !

So you are into Grime Music ? What defined this genre ?

Actually an example would fix all confusion. This is the definition of grime :

If you need some axioms :

  • Wiley invented the Genre, it came out of the dungeons of London about the same time Dubstep was invented in ~2004

  • 120-150 BPM

  • nocturnal strings

  • syncopes for the bassdrums

  • unusual rhythms and/or meters welcome (with african roots)

  • and of course an able Mzee

  • Ghetts is currently the best English speaking grime rapper alive, but there are many competitors to the throne

  • well known Grime producers are Sir Spyro, Rude Kid, Dot Rotten (also MC)
