Share samples about impact hammer metal. Somebody has?

Does anyone have samples about metal hammer impact sounds?

I need hammer quality samples, with a strong, dry impact, a metal hammer against another metal. Anyone have any flac you can share?

On the other hand, does anyone know of any VSTi that contains hammer impacts?

I would use it along with symphonic orchestra and synthesizers.

I have searched in many parts and unfortunately I can not find samples of quality and the VSTi libraries that I have nor does this kind of sound appear.

Thanks for any help!

Have you checked freesound.org?

Fieldrecorder are dirt cheap, why not look for a secondhand zoom H2 or something? You can record your own original sounds quickly @ high sample/bit rates if necessary.

@boonier @Djeroek.

Thank you very much! For the moment, I found this loop with 5 impacts. The third impact is close to what I’m looking for. With a little equalization or pitch variation I think it might work.

Interestingly, this sample is recorded with a Zoom H5 (they look very nice these microphones).Although I had a good heavy hammer and a good piece of metal to beat, I know that it is very difficult to get the desired sound, since it depends on the material. These kinds of sounds are hard to come by.I have a wired microphone that captures quite well. But ugh, it is very difficult to record certain sounds.Above, the hammer impact leaves a wake of reverberation that also depends on the room, which complicates it even more.

There probably is some library for Kontakt with percussions of this type.

Ringing rocks are pretty awesome!

I found this one, which sounds like oldschool indus techno hammer samples (80s/90s) :

Depending on what you search, magic keywords can be: anvil, steel hammer, blacksmith…

EDIT: BONUS:

(goto 00:45 to hear the hammer in action)

You could try using a cheap piezo contact mic on the metal piece, this way you get the clang in full glory but mostly without any mic/room effects at all, like anechoic quality to put room on yourself. I recommend bribing local scrapyards owner, he might even borrow you some more advanced and fierce hammers for your repository of…er, musical instruments?

I really am not aware of how much art is concentrated here when it comes to capturing sounds, a “hidden” craft practice that could give many hours of fun to those who carry it out.

I am also looking for a very peculiar sound of percussion, which has been used to imitate the footsteps of a horse with the impact of a coconut split in half?I do not know how to explain it. Let’s see if I find any video and I share it.

I wish I had a good microphone and a good sound card , because I´m actually a bladesmith and i do hammer metals every day, I also make music in renoise as a hobby… here a video (with hammer sounds)of myself hammering the tang of knife with a track I´ve made in Renoise 3,1 in the background…
