I like that gate technique thing! it is good for sequencing. I think that you need to low that bass sound -12 semi [in instrument settings]. It sounds high for a bass [by range ъ]

The env offset command its pretty versatile E00
A cool way of sequencing as you mention also useful to turn a pad sample into a set of stabby sounds
And then rearrange the individual hits
