VST vanishes after rendering to sample

Hi,

let’s say I have a VST open as instrument 00. When I render this to a new instrument (let’s say 01) I get the samples in 01, but the VST at 00 vanishes from the instrument selection menue.

OS: KXStudio

Any idea if this is normal?

I’m not at Renoise at the moment but check out http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Render_or_Freeze_Plugin_Instruments_to_Samples

There’s an option to replace the plugin with the samples instrument - you want to uncheck that (I think there’s also two right-click commands - render, and render and replace, but I could be wrong :slight_smile:
