Hey that is a good alternate analysis, but really the point is very clear in the article. It’s not about how many folks making so called noise which is no way the problem. It’s about how many who are NOT making the noise or enough din to make things matter aka the sheeple, which is the most of us, not the anarchists and rebels. The Pope Francis amidst a string of Catholic Church scandals and current events still has very strong voice on the authority of Jesus and spreading the message of solidarity and strength over passive suffering which is a very welcome change.
The term ‘grey eminence’ comes to fore. In fact manipulation has been mentioned and critiqued many times in his speech becos manipulation is the new warfare in the modern world, as relevant in older days from Machiavellian politics in Florence, just done even better due to modern amenities like technology and better organised criminal governments and politics doing their rounds making money and banking their primary tool.
But you mean to complain about some folks making noise? That is nowhere even close to the real problem which is exactly what the Pope is talking about. Most people are scared, cajoled, intimidated, bullied, threatened or bought with a whole host of nefarious techniques and tactics. Something as simple as ‘you could lose your job over this’ or ‘your daughter is cute, shame she might suffer if you tell this’ are actually excellent instances of how it’s done.
Also the fact that the Pope mentions about the youth and their idealism and dreams which is super relevant, especially for folks like me who happen to be Chirstian and happen to be an asshole too. It’s basically dare to dream. You still need balls for it, the Pope says others should grow a pair too.
But all this message can be very well lost in translation… lettuce, as far as I know you are in your 50s, so I can accommodate your opinion but I can’t agree to your view point about the Pope. 50s can be young in spirit too but that Pope ain’t addressing your age group, bro.
About old men with a mic, sure, most government members, media owners, business men of repute and so on are old aging men, so how do you say which is which…seems they all manipulate. It’s the first time the Pope has said something overtly clear about what is going on and is warning the youth not to lose their youthful idealism and pride and not get distracted away from their natural vigour and strength. The article is super clear about this but a reader still needs a good sense of history and geopolitics and economy to fit it into context.
I don’t listen to Alex Jones btw…also he ain’t the Pope.
When it comes to economic slavery like what the world is suffering and people forcibly working dead end jobs or jobs that rob your time over a fabricated thing called money, and a huge amount of parallel industries making revenues off illegal and unethical work manipulated as legal paperwork or by passing through buck, no doubt these guys think they are doing a good job too… the present is a perfect example of a highly skewed and corrupted dystopia where crime, poverty and environmental carnage is the routine norm. Market monopoly and a handful of people taking the largest of shares over resources which are God given and are for everyone to share and partake in. Yet crores of people especially young children are going starving and dying, women are treated as second class citizens and have been long denied their basic human rights…and young men too spending their best years doing a hamster wheel lifestyle to make pennies and make ends meet…where is the ‘utopia’??
Work must be defined as developing personal faculties and potentials to begin with so that society can cohesively work together and build a better world, the work must be respectful to both oneself and the world around you, should benefit everyone and yourself without being demeaning, forced or inhuman or irresponsible to either parties, should strive human beings to live to and attain their highest standards. I think it’s a good enough definition of work.
Rather work is defined as ‘anything’ that gets you some amount of money on your table. Technically you can be a prostitute, a drug dealer, a fish farmer exploiting natural resources and selling unhealthy fish, a corporation destroying natural food assets and selling crap for everyone, scientist building stupid killing machines and so on and still call it a ‘job’ chasing a concept invented by banks called money which is manufactured digitally btw, just circulating enough times to make the money itself useless but not without first talking your actual assets in the name of doing so. In essence our current ‘system’ has the tools built in place to steal both our time and our real world assets. Economic slavery makes you a slave the whole time regardless of how much food you manage to eat in your bowl. True freedom means doing what you want when you want it keeping the mutual respect parameters intact and not doing only what someone else wants from you along with a looming danger that something can happen to you as an inconvenience if you choose not to. Not to mention that lost time NOT spent developing your human faculties and potentials but blindly chasing material gains or just to barely survive.
If such ‘jobs’ do not benefit society or the environment and the individual in anyway largely just an excuse to dispense a small amount of money to such individuals and keep them ensalved, what is the actual benefit of ‘working’?
An individual and a human being should be able to pursue his or her goals and dreams without worrying about basic shelter and food. In that sort of world where people are not killing tooth and nail just to survive and where greedy people don’t exist, people will not be bothered about going to ‘work’ by 8:30 AM but rather aim to create useful art and engage in the sciences or very wholesome social activities and personal activity which brings happiness and engages the individual without any sort of looming fear of loss. That is what utopia feels like. Poverty itself will be non existent becos it’s a by product of greed and corruption as well as social exploitation. Remove the money factor and make resources free for all as it was made by default , and don’t force people to ‘work’ rather let them develop and contribute without fear.
People work becos of fear not because of the absence of it. It’s the same thing as slavery.
The current social and global drive is very much like what we musicians call GAS or gear acquisition syndrome. In an ideal world (which is real for many btw) however it really does not matter AT ALL what is your procured studio gear setup or what you do or don’t have as an item. It’s the music and the musician that defines the value and the discipline that one should focus on and work with things you already have and build upon that. Rather what the current system is encouraging and putting all the tools in place to further GAS and engage people in mindless acquisition of items or foods or coupons you name it…the focus must be shifted back to developing one’s own faculties and engaging in productive endeavours through development of the self rather than a display of acquisition prowess or a hoarder. Doing so only wastes your time in the end especially if it’s your own time flying away doing all the acquisition which is basically lost time composing or developing actual skills than some stupid gear acquisition ‘jobs’.
Unfortunately though most people are caught up on this web of greed and deceit and consider their acquisition time spent as ‘job well done’ and then the same folks end up complaint about ‘lack of time’ ‘stress issues’ ‘boss issues’ ‘lack of money/gear issues’ ‘anxiety and health issues’ and so on. I’m all this ruckus where is your inner musician and what is it doing wasting time with this whole acquisition business? Ask yourself that question first. Unless the individual develops, society cannot and will or develop as a whole, rather society will be used and thrown as a ‘whore’ in exchange of few pennies.
Too many brash and ignorant people with loud voices being heard, whilst quiet, humble people dont get their voices heard as much, so they need to express themselves more.

Humans have engaged in slavery in the past, just look at the illustrious world history, it’s still going on. Human resources is the most valuable asset for other humans. Now that liability is also being slowly negated by the encroachment of AI and automated jobs making humans redundant for such ‘work’.
