how is it possible to save an instrument as a template without sounds?

Hello,

I would like to save a  template for my drumpad without the sounds.
This is possible via the instrument box but only if at least one sample is included in the * .xrni.

Danoise GMKit Template:

How is that possible?

This is possible via the instrument box but only if at least one sample is included in the * .xrni.

 

Indeed, the option to save is disabled while this is true...but it makes sense for such "template instruments. 

 

The trick (the approach I must have used) is to use the instrument preset system - it allows you to save instruments outside the user library too.

 

Basically, open the sampler tab and locate the preset selector.

Then click that little disk icon and choose where to save the xrni:
