midi channels question

i want to map the transport controls of the akai fire to renoise

but because all of the pads even the knobs send mid note messages which is kinda weird if i map a note then i cant use that note with my other controller

is there any setting ?? or setup that i can use in the midi tab to have the akai fire sending midi info to a particular channel / bank

and use my arturia to play the keys and maybe map other pads to effects ???

If the controller are both using the same note on the same MIDI channel then I believe Renoise interprets this as being the same source

(it does not consider the source MIDI port). I am lucky with my 25SL-MKII, the drumpads are on channel 10 while keys are on channel 1.

A solution would be to create a simple ruleset in (the recently updated)xRulestool that look for messages from port X and assign those messages to channel Y.

And of course, you could further customize your setup using this tool as well. Just don’t forget that you need to let the tool handle the controller

(disable it in Renoise and instead, enable it in xRules).

solved

in my case theres a resource for arturia controllers called Midi Center

it basically lets you reprogram the entire factory mappings

set the keyboard to channel 2

so the Akai fire can take channel 1

it works perfect now

Erm…Danoise…i just read you have the 25SL-MKII . I got the 49SL-MKII and didnt manage to get the pads working. How does your Setup looks like for the 25SL?
