I was running VCV Rack 0.5.1, was pretty stable (standalone)

It’s my first “modular”. Never played with real or soft modulars, however I was able to produce some digital farts:

Not sure what version you are using, however I will give it a try to 0.6.2b which is beta.

Maybe you could post the log output (if present) as an issue in the github repository here? https://github.com/VCVRack/Rack/issues

There seems to be some open issues for Win/Mac regarding startup problems. I used the 0.5.1 linux version although.

Overall, looks like a very promising piece of software, given it has not yet reached 1.0!

Tried 0.6.2b.

The VST plugin is silent and there is no real GUI yet (I guess the bridge is still in the works) and I cannot make it to connect to the jack audio server on Linux in standalone mode.

I acknowledge that wink.png

I might dig into why it doesn’t connect to jack :’)

EDIT: Everything works in stand-alone mode, I am just blind!

old cheap thinkpad machine with windows 7 running, maybe thats the problem here. will check your link because it annoys me that it doesnt work.

I don’t have windows here, cannot help. Good luck in finding the issue, might be it is just settings! unsure.png

thanks for helping me out. might think about a linux distro too, just to get this thing running.

No worries. If you would need help with linux setup just send me a DM

help with setting up vcv or setting up alpha forever?
If you say it is possible to use alpha forever running linux i will definetly pay those 50 bucks and give it a try!

vcvrack

ah too bad, i would really love to use something like alpha forever or plogue bidule but both of them are not released under linux.
I am wondering if it will be possible to use the windows versions of the vst in linux?

New versions are so… good and also look at that front banner…

Price has gone up with 30 euro , wasn’t it 50 upon release ?
That being said , I was verry excited for this piece of software but really disliked the filters and overall workflow ,not to mention the cpu usage .
It will be hard for a piece of software to take me away from reaktor which have have been using since the early days .

unfortunately the price gone up… but i think the filters are fine
some nice tune created using only this plugin

Going off topic for a moment to say: Cool track, cool video.

So I was gonna try this out but this is happening. Anybody know how to fix?

Try checking the Plugin settings in Renoise (the “?” button next to the plugin selection drop-down) and see if the HiDpi scaling is enabled. If it is not enabled, enable it. If it is enabled, disable it. Usually clears up those sorts of issues when I run into them.
