"Scream Filter" -- where the heck is it?

Hi,

According to the Renoise / Redux manual – Audio Effects, section 1.5.4 - Scream Filter (redux only) – there is supposed to be a ‘scream filter’ device inside Redux.

Problem is… it’s not there!

I’ve included a screenshot of the effect selector menu in redux… there’s no sign of Scream Filter anywhere? Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

thanks!

Use this tool, since it is a deprecated effect:http://renoise.com/tools/native-dsp-context-menu

Copy it then from Renoise and paste it into Redux, to have it there, I guess.

Looks like this got removed in the last patch. The manual has been edited to reflect this.

the scream filter is nothing more but a rectified output version ( absolute value ) of a regular low pass filter
You can mmickk it by inserting a low pass filter followed by a distortion device set to shift mode
