New Tool (2.8): Groove Track

Here’s the first second release of Groove Track… it can be downloaded from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cjyo7b5bg573jta/uk.tristanstrange.Groovetrack_Rns280_V0.2.xrnx

It’s options can be gotten at via Tools -> Groove Track…

Usage

 • Set the source to a note column whose volume and delay columns you want copied to other tracks.
 • The tracks you want to copy to are selected via the Mapped Tracks check boxes.
 • Add groove to the source groove track by setting volume and delay values.
 • Insert notes in a mapped track and watch them automatically lock to the groove track.
 • Update the groove track and watch mapped tracks stay synchronised.

Extra features coming soon including amount to apply groove to each track, ability to enable volume and delay independently on a per track basis, keyboard shortcuts, locking of source pattern to the currently edited pattern and a bit of a GUI revamp!

Source and issues log can be found here: https://github.com/triss/renoise_tools

Please let me know what you think!

Changes
0.1 - 0.2

 • Fixed issue with being able to map non-sequencer tracks.
 • Fixed issues with track removal

This must be merged with autoslice and Slices to Pattern!

Looks like an awesome tool, can’t wait to try it!

Hey tris, can this be updated for r3? I get this error when using it:

'***\Application Data\Renoise\V3.0.0\Scripts\Tools\uk.tristanstrange.Groovetrack.xrnx\main.lua' failed in one of its notifiers.
The notifier will be disabled to prevent further errors.

Please contact the author (Tristan Strange | tristan.strange@gmail.com) for assistance...

std::logic_error: 'trying to access a nil object of type 'class RenoiseSong'. the object is not or no longer available.'
Also it would be more useful if it could copy delay/volume values from source track to the same lines (if they contain notes) on mapped track. That way it would be very handy to preview different grooves using this tool in combination with dblue`s slices to pattern.
That doesn`t look too promising, maybe some kind soul can update the tool using the source on github? Please!</.>
