Detachable Sample, Wave, etc.. windows are great, but what about the Mixer window?? Please make that window detachable as well!! I want to work with the edit screen on one window, and the mixer view on another at the same time. It would be really great, plus the chicks love it.

Or even better, allow the detachable window to switch between the Mixer view or Instrument.

I vote for that, too. Maybe even allow to show the scopes / spectrogram in the detached mixer window, so you can see your changes visually on the same screen. :)

Greets. New user who is very surprised to have just discovered Renoise. A post on another forum led me here.

Many DAW users have two monitors for workflow, you could drag the Mixer into monitor 2 if it was detachable. Detachable in one monitor is a bit messy, as I found with my DAW. But if it's what you want...

Yesssss, like in Reason, you can detach three Windows and put each on different monitor, sequencer, mixer, rack!
I think that in Renoise each windows could be detachable.

As someone who doesn't use the Mixer at all, even I'm pretty surprised that this wasn't the top choice for detachment to use on a second monitor.

The reason why I'm not using the mixer is the lack of detaching it, my work flow kind of requires the ability to see the mixer constantly, otherwise accessing the mixer view takes away too much energy from the initial flow, even if it's behind just one hot key... That's just me. I've tried to settle with hot keys but meh.

I'm not sure if you have something like a BCF2000, with the feedback turned on, the faders instantly change to the track perimeter around my cursor location, which is currently my "detached" mixer Posted Image so nobody is hearing my complaining regarding this.
It shouldn't be hard to create an external mixer view as tool, it is a bit of work though and the drag and drop option has to be replaced with some nifty set of swap buttons.

Not everyone has a BCF2000.

The mixer view is invaluable and I use it all the time. Yeah using a hotkey to swap works, but just having the window detached and placed on a second monitor works all the better.

aaaand it's overrated. 7-bit fader resolution is about as desirable as using a Lite Brite to program your patterns.

Having what you want at your fingertips is very important, and Renoise 3 has somewhat departed from that concept by adding more panels and a more gui browsing workflow :( A detachable mixer would be a big step in the right direction.

A necessary bump. I'd still like to hear some thoughts from the developers on this, although judging from the latest beta post by taktik this feature in discussion will most likely not happen during the rc times. If not in 3.0 then maybe on the next release, hmm?

Or at least let it be a tab in the deattatched window so that we can still switch to the sampler.
