Most probably didn’t notice but there were some server changes recently made. Since then i have a small problem with the Forum loading times. I have asked around but so far it seems i’m the only one with the issue. Basically when first loading the forum it hangs on www.alnera.eu for roughly 30 seconds before anything loads, after that the forum seems to work normal. In a tracert command to the forum that address seems not listed, the values look normal and a ping to that alnera address times out, while for others it worked.
Question now is, am i the only one with the issue or do others experience similar problems?
You should check your system, firefox addons and extensions. Atleast on my system there is nothing which needs to be loaded from www.alnera.eu on this site (on the network tab from chrome developer console). Could be adware or virus, which tracks your visits and show you banners. Try “AdwCleaner” to check your system for adware and scan your system for virus.
Might be something fishy going on, just not sure where to look yet, i have tried several scanners now and none found anything on my machines, laptop and main pc. Appearently that alnera address is used for some Java eploit stuff and there is no Java enabled in my browsers, i have used Live HTTP headers addon for firefox and to me it looks like the Renoise server is sending a location header to that address. I’m not all that tech savy with networks but at least checked DNS and IP setting, hosts file, router and tried Firefox safe mode as well as a second machine which was barely used and shows no signs of infection either. Also it’s only the Renoise forum which does load that address, i have tried several other sites and it shows for none. Any more ideas?
The forum has been thoroughly scrubbed and cleaned from head to toe, disinfected, and upgraded to a fresh new version. All should be good again.
There may be a few quirks here and there as we continue to tweak the new theme, fine tune the forum features, and other things like that, so just let us know if you spot anything weird.
