Reaper - Why do I need it?

Reaper + Redux is a great combo

Iā€™ve used the lions share of DAWs out there and each has their strengths and weaknessesā€¦ I love renoise, itā€™s fast as anything and a lot easier to see complex harmonic relationships on one screen, but is it one size fits all? No.

If I was going to do a live band setup Iā€™d do it in a traditional daw like Reaper or my personal current fave for that stuff, Bitwig. If I was going to do ridiculous microedits that require me to see transients and stretch things on a visual level, Iā€™d use Live.

Horses for courses, they all do essentially the same thing in a different way, itā€™s just finding what works best with the way you think creatively.

I can see how people who are used to renoise might choose to add reaper rather than one of the others, it has more of the DIY aesthetic like renoise and even includes LUA scripting.
