So, any idea what can cause this??
Any more info I should provide??

Renoise is a 32-bit application and, as such, requires that the 32-bit compatibility libraries be installed on your system.
See this post for more info:
http://www.renoise.com/board/index.php?s=&…st&p=110050
Maybe this is the problem you are experiencing?

Thanks for reply, but I think I have the necessary 32 bit libraries…
I’ve got:
ia32-libs
lib32asound2
lib32gcc1
lib32nss-mdns
lib32stdc++6
lib32z1
…don’t think all of them should be necessary for Renoise, but they are installed anyway
On the same computer, I used to run Mandriva, and (with some bugs) it used to run pretty much OK.
any idea??

Are you running a dual screen setup? Does it work when disabling the second screen? Probably the same problem as http://www.renoise.com/board/index.php?showtopic=19961

BTW: I think we should, until we have native 64 Linux support, add a 32bit OS as a requirement. There is so much which can go wrong when running 32bit apps in a 64bit Linux. You will end up in nothing more than troubles.
This doesn’t mean that we don’t want to support 64 bit OSs, this already has a high priority, but should be meant as a “warning” that you should install a 32 bit Linux to use Renoise - if you have the choice - are setting up a new system.

It’s running quite nice on my laptop with the 32bit compatibility libs, but I’d really appreciate a native 64bit version (where can I vote for that feature )
