vol/pan columns are great for 3 simultaneous uses: vol, pan, and fx. For that reason, there should be the ability to have at least 3 columns here. Right now there is only a maximum of 2: vol & pan.
This is actually somewhat related to another request of mine related to the 0Exy effect. It’s true that I can get Ex to retrig in the middle of a sample by putting it in a vol/pan column, but there are so precious few vol/pan columns that it’s too restrictive.
That’s why old trackers had heaps of efx and vol/pan column commands and dual commands. With renoise you have automation to compensate the loss of versatility in that area.
